Oral Surgeon Richard E. Barsan, DDS

Dr. Barsan has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, and completed his Dental training at the Ohio State University, where he graduated cum laude and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honorary. He also served as class president in Junior year. He then completed a one year General Dental Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sepulveda, California, and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans.

After residency, he elected to take the board examination, and became board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has served as president of the San Diego County Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and on the Board of Directors for the San Diego County Dental Society. He is a fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society, and Imperial Valley Dental Study Club.

Dr. Barsan is married to a former American Airlines flight attendant and has two grown children. He is an avid reader and computer user, and enjoys hiking, jeeping, and photography in the Imperial Valley and surrounding areas.
